Our certified Fair for Life Fair Trade neem is sustainably harvested from the shady canopies of large neem trees (Azadirachta indica). Neem leaves have long been revered in Ayurveda for their versatility. Bitter and very cooling, neem is widely used for nearly all types of pitta and kapha imbalances.*
The powder arrived finely sifted and the color is a rich, dark green, which tells me it's fresh from those shady canopies they mention. I've been adding a small spoonful to my morning routine and it's easy to mix without clumping.
The leaves arrived finely ground with that earthy, slightly bitter aroma I remember from Ayurvedic shops. I've been adding a pinch to my nightly face mask and my skin feels calmer by morning. Knowing it's Fair Trade and sustainably harvested makes me feel good about using it daily.
The bag is generous for the price, and the powder itself has that earthy, slightly bitter aroma you'd expect from real neem leaves. It seems sustainably sourced too, which is a plus for me. Only giving four stars because the packaging isn't resealable, so I had to transfer it to a jar.
