Sałata rzymska Flashy Trout Back (Lactuca sativa) to delikatna, stara odmiana o nakrapianym czerwono-zielonym ubarwieniu, które nadaje roślinie charakterystyczny wygląd przypominający pstrąga. Odmiana ta dobrze rośnie w chłodnym klimacie i może być sadzona w pomieszczeniach lub na zewnątrz.

Planted these in early spring when the soil was still chilly, and they sprouted fast as the description promised. The speckled trout-like pattern is even prettier in person, and the leaves stay tender for salads straight from the garden.
The speckled red and green leaves really do look like a trout’s back, which makes the garden bed feel a bit more alive than plain lettuce. They stayed tender even through a few cooler nights, and I’ve been snipping leaves for salads for weeks now.
