Graines de Concombre Bio

For a cucumber that looks like it belongs in a fall harvest basket, the flavor is surprisingly delicate and sweet—my kids eat them straight off the vine. Started flowering about five weeks after sowing, and the golden-brown skins make them easy to spot hiding in the leaves.

Planted these in early June and the vines took off faster than any cucumber I've grown, with that golden-brown skin turning out exactly as described. The mild sweetness is real—my kids eat them straight off the vine without any dressing.

That golden-brown skin on the Poona Khera is what sold me, and the mild sweetness really came through in our first salad. It’s been a vigorous climber too, easily keeping up with the trellis I built, so I’m already planning a second sowing for late summer.
